GPS functionality is great (Roadmate 1440), despite it sometimes being off on the addresss location.
COMPLAINT: Unit often powers itself down and resets itself with the message - "Your device needs to be restarted to increase performance"
Unit continually "resets" or crashes in this manner.
I contacted support and they offered a software update that i downloaded, but it did NOT fix the problem.
Corporate offered to send me another 1440(I don't think so). An upgrade to a different model that did not have known issue would be $189 for a model that retails at just $50 more.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I have read reviews and it seams that Magellan needs some works in there customer resolution department. MANY BBB complaints on file.
